Arrest Made for Rough Sleeping in Stourbridge

A man has been arrested in Stourbridge for rough sleeping, which has been described as a “breach of community protection notice” by the officers on Twitter. Stourbridge Police have taken a proactive approach, working with agencies to offer support to the individual. The police have also been active in the town center, responding to complaints from the public about the state of the High Street and aggressive begging.

Neighborhood policing manager, Inspector Adam Austin, led the patrol and emphasized the need for joint working between emergency services, the council, and other support groups. He added that members of the public should report crimes or issues around anti-social and intimidating behavior that concern them.

In the past month, officers and staff from Dudley Council conducted a walkabout in the town center to offer support to genuinely homeless individuals and to clear away items that have been accumulating in empty shop doorways. While the police are unable to address all the problems that arise, they are committed to making town centers welcoming and thriving places for locals and visitors alike.

The public can report crime via Live Chat on the West Midlands Police website or by calling 101.
